Cleaning Protocol

This Should All Take Roughly 15 Minutes of Uninterrupted Effort.

BEFORE ENTERING.

When our clients leave garbage in or around the building, we receive a $500 fine from management.

1. Before entering the building, please walk the following route to check for garbage (see video).

2. If you find any garbage, please move it to the dumpsters.

AFTER ENTERING.

Where are the Cleaning Supplies?

• Broom and Dustpan: attached to golden ladder near washroom

• Spray Mop: above washroom (access code PUCK)

• (Dry) Wide Broom: inside white room closet (key access only)

• Paper Towels: under kitchen sink (or above washroom)

• Vim Interior Toilet Bowl Cleaner: under washroom sink

• Windex: under both sinks + inside white room closet

• Garbage Bags: under kitchen sink, above washroom, and inside white room closet

• Floor Cleaner: under kitchen sink pre-mixed in a PineSol bottle for clients, plus inside white room closet.

Cleaning: Order of Operations

Please note the following instructions, as they are designed to help you clean faster. When cleaning, clean from top to bottom. That way any debris from the beginning on counter tops, gets swept up and mopped at the end from the floor.

1. Windex and Paper Towel to clean surfaces (tabletops, mirrors, toilet seat, ceramic, etc.)

2. PineSol to clean floor (fill spray mop with water, then add a splash of PineSol). Our floor is old and worn, so minimal cleaning agent helps preserve it.

AREAS TO BE CLEANED.

Washroom

1. Toilet

   1. Seat: wipe top to bottom with Windex

   2. Exterior: wipe with Windex

   3. Bowl: use brush with Vim solution

   4. Flush, then Plunge toilet with plunger (bad pipes, plunging helps)

2. Sink & Faucet, wipe with Windex

3. Mirrors wipe both with Windex

4. Re-stock toilet paper above mirror (2 rolls on left, 2 on right)

5. Fold toilet paper beside the toilet with a downward pointing arrow

6. Press down / compress tissues in washroom garbage bin to create space

7. Floor spray mop

8. DEEP CLEANS ONLY: Walls ensure walls don’t have smears or water trails / markings

Kitchenette

1. Wipe Surfaces with Windex

   1. Counter tops

   2. Stove top

   3. Double Sink & Faucet

   4. Fridge (only if dirty)

2. Wash Cups if in sink, or put back if in drying rack

3. Cupboard shelves are arranged neatly (use your discretion)

4. Rolling wooden kitchen cart goes against the wooden wall in the kitchen

5. Add Water to Brita Filters, if needed

Bar Top Area

1. Please wipe down bar top with Windex

2. Wipe stools with Windex, top of stools and leg exteriors

   1. Wipe baseboards

   2. Ensure wall above and below bar top is clean (magic eraser if not)

3. Clean large standing mirror with Windex

   1. Clean behind mirror as best as you can

Makeup Vanity Area

1. Please wipe down mirror and white vanity table with Windex

   1. Pay special attention to drawers pulls (sometimes people spill drinks on drawer pulls)

   2. Wipe down legs of vanity table

2. Wipe “Good Vibes” Mirror as well please, and avoid spraying Windex on the Instagram sticker please

3. Wipe stools and their stainless steel base

4. Ensure areas around baseboards are clean

5. Pull curtain open towards the vanity

6. Move garbage from the silver bin (left of vanity), to the main trash bin (near kitchen)

Window Areas

1. Please fully open black drapes and close sheer white curtains to the best of your ability

   1. Check for stains on curtains

   2. Clean window-sill if dirty

2. Fully open blackout blind in white room (roller on right side)

3. Pull furniture out so that it is not touching the curtains

Living Areas

1. Sofa should be free of crumbs / debris, fluff pillows please

2. Coffee Table should be wiped with Windex

3. Hanging & Saucer Chairs should be arranged neatly and pillows fluffed

White Floor

1. Spray Mop Floor and ensure it is free of scuffs (there are scratches near the far wall, that’s ok)

2. Clean mirror with Windex

Garbage Bins

We have 3 garbage bins, and a recycle bin:

1. Silver bin in makeup area left of vanity: empty this bin into the main garbage

2. Washroom bin (compress tissues to create space)

3. Main Garbage bin (if bag is more than 3/4 full, replenish bag from under the sink)

4. Recycle bin under wooden rolling kitchen cart.

Floor

First Sweep: Use wide broom to speed up process. Remember to check corners and edges.

Mopping Tips

1. Spray Mop: use the ones above the washroom (not the white mop since that’s just for clients).

2. Mop Lengthwise: mop ALONG the wooden floor planks, NOT across. Mopping lengthwise minimizes effort, maximizes cleanliness of floor.

3. Spray Generously: don’t be shy, you want that floor nice and misty when mopping to help degrease, de-gunk.

4. Press Firmly: When mopping, you need to have a firm touch to ensure the maximum amount of friction between the mop and floor. If you haven’t worked up a light sweat, you haven’t properly cleaned the floor.

Before leaving please dump garbage in designated area (see below map & video).
