Introduction; So You Want to Photograph Toronto’s Skyline, eh?

You’re on this page because you want to do a photoshoot with the Toronto cityscape skyline. Here are some spots that show all the skyscrapers as a symbol of the booming city behind you!

Oh, by the way, if you’re in the market for new gear, check out our suggested GEAR page!

#1 Riverdale Park East

This is hands down our favourite view of the city, perhaps because it’s somewhere we frequently go to hangout on the hill, or cross the pedestrian bridge across the DVP, either way this is our #1 pick because it’s also just a good place to hang out, especially in the summer where it’s a super social spot to be!

The Bathurst Street Bridge shows the Toronto skyline from the West side of the CN Tower, and so you have North (left side of image) to South (right side of image)

#2 Bathurst Street Bridge (South of Front St.)

This is an epic spot to shoot, though you should be mindful that Torontonians use this bridge often during most of the day. This is why we suggest shooting here during a less busy time of day so there are less pedestrians and street traffic to disturb your shot. If you need to shoot during a busy time of day, then may we suggest the bridge at our next location?

Apparently no one takes photos of the Toronto cityscape from the Cherry Street Bridge, but you can see Toronto, hiding behind an industrial era vibe. From the Cherry Street Bridge you’ll be looking North West at the CN Tower.

#3 Cherry Street Bridge

This place is hands down phenomenal! The reason is because there’s not typically a ton of traffic here, and the bridge is super rustic and has a phenomenal view from across the water with downtown in the background. But don’t just take our word for it, go check it out for yourself, as this is one of Toronto’s secret hideaway spots to snap awesome pictures for all you Toronto-based content creators!

The Thomson Hotel Rooftop Lounge might be a bit bougier than you’d like, but you’ll get an epic view of the CN Tower, from the West side of downtown Toronto. North is pictured left, and South is pictured right.

#4 Thomson Hotel Rooftop Lounge

We have only ever had to pay for drinks at the Thomson Toronto rooftop lounge, so this technically counts as free ENTRY. But be advised, if you show up with a backpack and a ton of camera gear you will be booted for photographing without a permit. For the run and gunners who are adventurous and feeling up for the challenge though, if you bring a mirrorless with a small lens and tuck it away in a purse and your model or subject isn’t drawing too much attention, then you should be clear to snap a couple of shots from here since the view of the Toronto skyline from here is magnificent! I mean, just look at this view!!

#5 Hanlan’s Point Ferry & Beach

Ok, so this one isn’t actually free unless you have a boat. Otherwise you’ll need to pay for the ferry, about $20 since we last recall. Anyway, once you snap your photos from the Ferry, you can actually head to Hanlan’s Point beach and snap some major cool photos there of the sunset, which sets over the water and always tends to have a wonderful glow. Do be advised though, that this is a nude beach so be careful where you point your camera if you don’t appreciate being confronted! Aside from that, have fun and happy shooting, fellow Torontonians!
