How to Create Videos from Photos, in under 5 mins!

Since we have held our first smartphone in our hands, we have been collecting and sharing memories in the form of pictures. Be it the pictures from your latest camping trip or your jet ski ride, we always have pictures in our gallery that we wish to share with our friends across social media.

Sharing each of these pictures one by one seems like a daunting task, especially when you have to scroll through a bunch of them to find the best ones. So imagine if you could make a single video out of the best pictures you have? How convenient would that be! The best part is that you can even customize this video anyway you want, add music to it, and make it appealing.

And how do you do that - Using a video editor website.

Getting started with creating videos from photos

One of the most common reasons people prefer a video editor website over a video editor app is because of the convenience it offers, especially for tasks such as creating a video from a collage of pictures.

While almost all smartphones have editing software by default, it is a no-brainer that the features of default resources are limited and do not allow us to create all the types of video content we desire. Using a cloud-based video editor, such as InVideo, is always a suitable option.

More importantly, when we’re trying to create an attractive video using pictures, we should know the following things:

  1. Which photos do we want to include?

  2. What is the purpose of our video?

  3. What music would be suitable for our video?

Choosing the Pictures

Pictures are the key elements of any video. While we have the liberty to create any video, we should take care to choose the pictures that will go into the video. We can be as picky about them as we want.

However, as we are selecting the pictures, we should try to keep all of them in a similar orientation - either landscape or portrait - to create a visual uniformity across the video.

The purpose of your video

After choosing our favourite pictures, it’s time to determine what kind of video we want to create. Choosing the purpose of our video helps figure out what ambiance the video could have.

Our video could be for our friends, our social media friendlist, our partner, or anybody we want to share it with, and accordingly, we will have to edit it ahead.

Picking the right music

Music infuses life into our video. Without music, our video won’t have that emotional connection we want it to have. However, before we choose the music, we must ask ourselves what audience the video is going to cater to. If this video is for our friends, we can pick any music, maybe, even the favorite songs we hold dear.

And if we are going to share these videos across social media or YouTube, we must make sure that we’re using non-copyrighted music so that our video doesn’t get taken down.

How To Create Videos From Photos

Now that we’re clear about our directions and have the pictures ready, it’s time to create our video. For this purpose, we can hop on to a video editor website, such as Invideo, and produce our video without the need for a dedicated app.

Step 1 - Insert the Images

Once we have our video timeline prepared, the first step is to import our pictures.

It is good practice to insert them in the order of their appearance. But it will not be a problem if we insert them randomly, as there exists the option of changing their order of appearance later on as well.

A good video is formed when the images entered have a common topic binding them together.

The topic can be either a theme, or an official statement, or a general reason for collection.

Step 2 - Adjust the images

Adjusting involves the editing of the duration of the images that we previously inserted.

The purpose of this step is to either give a specific amount of time to specific images, convey relevant information, or adjust the images to synchronize them to the audio that we will add in the next step.

This gives our video a better presentation value and makes the final result look more polished and natural. Furthermore, we can also use the options of image resizing, filters, and color correction to make our images more appealing in this step.

Any changes to the order of the images should also be done at this juncture as changes further down the line will seem time-consuming.

Step 3 - Insert and Trim the Audio

Now we need to add our preferred song/audio file to our video timeline. The best thing to do would be to have an already trimmed and edited audio ready for use.

If that is not possible, then there is an option to trim the audio in the editor itself, making it easier for us to blend the music exactly how we want.

Simply specify the starting and ending time, and the audio will be trimmed accordingly. The video trimmed in such a manner will not have any copies outside of the editor and will only be available for use inside it.

Step 4 - Rendering and sharing

Now that all the changes and edits to the video have been done, it is time for the final process of rendering our video. Rendering refers to the final output that we get as a result of the compilation of our pictures with our favorite song(s).

After the video is rendered, we have a masterpiece that we can now share with anybody we want. Most of the video editor websites have the option of sharing these videos on social media directly, making it convenient for us to share them around widely.

Final Words

Creating videos from pictures is a great way to present something new to our audience. As there are many options to do the same, it’s important to understand what we want to achieve from the video we create. In the same way, we must consider the type of music we choose, especially if the video is meant to promote our brand because we don’t want to be copyrighted in the process of promoting it.

If you want to get started with creating a video in a matter of minutes, follow these guidelines and use the Invideo video editor. It is a matter of a few minutes, and you will have a crafty video at your fingertips.
