That depends on what kind of photography studio rental space you’re looking for, and if it’s in Toronto, or in the GTA. Let’s explore some of the factors which affect what renting a photography studio in Toronto will cost you!

Most retail photography studio rentals in Toronto and in the GTA tend to have rooms sized anywhere from under 300 square feet to 2000+ square feet. To the best of our knowledge, the average studio size is about 1,000 square feet, and 12’ ceilings.
Rates range in value for photo studios in Toronto
Most quality retail photography studio rentals with competitive prices have rates starting at $70 but typically climb to $120 per hour . Oh, and by retail photo studios, I mean photography studios which specialize in rooms for rent which are primarily meant for photographing retail photography (things such as baby photos, family portraits, wedding and engagement portraits, etc.)
If you’re looking for a boutique mixed use photo studio for B2B and B2C (commercial and retail) small to medium sized studio (500-1500sqft), you’re looking at $70 and up per hour, typically with an extra charge for additional gear to be rented such as professional photography lighting, seamless backdrops, access to various other photo-related gear, an assistant, special accommodations, etc.

When renting a photography studio in Toronto, expect to start at your scheduled start time and end at your scheduled end time. Set up and tear down as well as tidying time all have to be done within the time frame in which you have the studio booked. If you do not tidy after yourselves, or stay over to do so, you should expect to pay additional fees for cleaning or overtime. We do not know of a single studio so far which does not charge a cleaning fee for a studio left in an untidy condition, so tidy up after yourselves and preserve your relationships with the studio managers!
