Fully-equipped boutique photography studio rental
Anyway, for the purposes of this article we’ll be showing you a few photos taken by Daniel Camer on THAT Toronto Studio’s coloured seamless paper rolls.
It’s our vision to have a Toronto where all artists thrive. And to achieve this we’ll need to all be willing to share our skills with one another to help each other grow and learn.
So with that being said, we’ll be breaking down our lighting techniques used in these images, quite simply.
3 of these photos, the photos with the females were all shot with just one light source. Each time, the light was placed above and to the right of the models.
The one place where the lighting varies significantly is the photo of the male model. On camera left we have a softbox mounted to our ceiling lighting rig (a boom arm would also work) shining down from above, and then we have a bare bulb with a purple gel bouncing off a v-flat on camera right. Behind the model we have an underexposed background light with a 30 degree grid just to help separate him from the background. We were going for a greater depth with this photo so that’s why this image was lit with a three point lighting system.
As you can see, whichever route you decide to go—simple one strobe lighting set up, or a more immersive 3 point lighting setup, either one is going to produce stunning results, but the more lights you add, typically the more crafty you can make your photos!
And good news: you can rent our lights!
THAT Toronto Studio is Toronto’s favourite boutique photography studio rental which has both a fully functional lighting rig set-up, with ceiling lighted light stands, a 9’ high x 9’ wide seamless paper roll setup, as well as natural light and boho chic furnishings to offer you the ability to create some beautiful lifestyle photos. And best of all, they have a fully automated booking system which will be back online as of September 1, 2020 to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19 over the summer.
